So I restarted and it loaded the BIOS and went to a black screen that said cannot read disc press ctrl+alt+del to restart. Every time I restart I get the same message. After 6 years I decided to rebuild my hard drive from scratch in Jan. 2010. After completion, go to Device manager and look at the hard drive controller driver.
